Cold brew season has arrived!
Last year I tried cold brew for the first time and I was easily convinced that it should be the drink of summer. It’s so easy to make up a batch at home and saves sooo much money when you don’t spend $5 per drink out in the real world. Yikes.
Side note: for those that don’t know what cold brew is, it’s not just cold coffee! It’s concentrated so it’s stronger and tastes way better in drinks than cold coffee would.
My go to last summer was to have it Vietnamese style – over ice with a big spoonful of sweetened condensed milk. Mmmmmm. But when Matt made up the first batch of cold brew for me this year I didn’t have any condensed milk on hand so I improvised… and discovered my new favorite recipe!
Let me introduce you to the Sweet Vanilla Iced Coffee!
Sweet Vanilla Iced Coffee
- 1 part cold brew (recipe here)
- 1 part milk
- 1 tablespoon vanilla simply syrup (recipe here)
- ice to fill half your glass
Fill your glass halfway up with ice, pour in your cold brew to cover the ice, and top with milk the rest of the way. Add the vanilla syrup, stir, and drink!
