Let me start by confessing that I tried to come up with a really cool name for this coffee sugar scrub diy….
vanilla latte! but there’s no milk in it…
macchiato! but again, no milk and real macchiato’s don’t have sugar or vanilla in them…
“Coffee with 1 sugar, please” – way too long for a title and will probably just confused people…
Coffee Sugar Scrub diy? Not overly exciting, but pretty self explanatory. Done.
Okay, glad that’s out of the way now ;)
I’ve always liked a good sugar scrub and they’re so easy to make at home. I even blogged a diy for one way back in the early days of The Lovely Things.
But since my life now involves way more coffee than it ever has before it thought it would be a great time to try out a coffee sugar scrub – and it did not disappoint!
Coffee Sugar Scrub diy
- 1/2 cup brown or raw sugar
- 1/2 cup coarsely ground coffee
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/8 cup (or less) olive oil
Mix the sugar, coffee, and vanilla together in a bowl. Slowly add in oil until the consistency is like wet sand.
If you add too much oil it will be harder to scoop out with your hands to use and will probably end up separating after it sits for a bit too. So if you do add too much just add more sugar or coffee until it’s good again.
I like using it in the shower on my arms and legs and then washing it away with body wash and a loofah. It makes your skin SO smooth! Also, if you use it before and after you shave your legs they will be incredibly soft too. Just in time for shorts/dress season!
And my last note: if you choose to use it in while having a bath you will feel like you’re sitting in a huge (really weak) cup of coffee haha
