Dorothy. She knew what she was talking about.
On Monday we got back from a few back to back trips that took us away from home for an entire month (I posted about the vacation part of it here). I really love travelling, seeing new places, going back to old places with good memories, living in nice hotels, not having to cook…
Unlike most people it seems, I don’t mind living out of a suitcase for a while and I really don’t get tired of eating out every day (except for the cost. Yikes). I mean, yeah, my own bed is great and all, but is it as great as a king size bed with 4 pillows, a big fluffy white comforter, and someone else that comes in and makes it for me every day? I’m not so sure about that.
But despite all that there really is something about coming back home.
The peacefulness. The settledness. The routine. The coffee.
As much as I love everything about being away I also really love my routine at home. I love sitting down and planning out my week, tackling projects, and working on this blog.
I think nothing says it better than this quote I saw on Pinterest the other day:
“Our homes should inspire us to go out into the world and do great things and then welcome us back for refreshment.“
