Last week I had a day one of those errand-filled days where you finally look at the time on your way home and realized it’s somehow already 5:00 and you don’t know where the day went. However, as I was walking up the stairs to our 2nd story apartment there was a bowl of freshly picked plums waiting on my doorstep. Our lovely landlady has a beautiful garden oasis in the backyard and randomly shares her harvest with us, and it’s just one of those little things that makes my heart happy. I’m sure it’s not a big deal to her since she has more then she knows what to do with, but I think it’s just the kindness of (almost)strangers that makes me appreciate it even more.
“Unexpected kindness is the most powerful, least costly, and most underrated agent of human change.
Kindness that catches us by surprise brings out the best in our nature” – Bob Kerrey
