This year I came up with a summer bucket list, which I actually almost completed, so I thought I might as well make a fall one too. After I wrote down wrote it down I realized that I basically want to become an 80 year old gramma – and I’m ok with that. Here it is!
Make a quilt / I’ve always wanted to make a quilt, but there’s just been one little thing that’s stopped me. I don’t sew. Kind of a crucial part to quilting I’m told ;) So we will see if I can finally follow through on this one.
Re-learn how to knit and make something cool / I’ve taught myself how to knit a few times over the years, but I’ve never actually made anything other then squares and a toque that was supposed to be adult size and ended up being doll size. Oops. So it’s my mission to A) learn how to read a pattern and B) make something useful!
Puzzles / I realize this one may seem a little odd, but I’m an odd person so I’m okay with it. I used to love doing puzzles as a kid and would do them all winter long. But I haven’t done any in probably 10 years. 10 years?! That’s crazy. Time to make some tea, put a movie on, and see if I still like doing puzzles as much as I think I do.
Pumpkins / It’s pretty safe to say I’m obsessed with pumpkins. Not in the ‘buy all the pumpkin things’ or the ‘pumpkin flavoured everything’ kind of way, but specifically in the ‘I get way too excited with I see pumpkin patches and crates of them at the grocery store in October’ kind of way. So to make this a bucket list item I’m going to go to a pumpkin patch, or carve a pumpkin, or buy one of those cute little ones to just sit on my table and make me happy.
Go for a walk in the country/park/somewhere lovely / I love when all the leaves change color (who doesn’t), so I’m determined to get out and enjoy them instead of just drive by and half notice how nice everything looks.
Make cinnamon buns from scratch / Because they’re delicious and I love them. And keep pinning recipes for them on Pinterest, but never actually follow through on the baking part.
So there you have it! A lot of these things will probably carry over into winter because realistically I’m not going to make a quilt in the 2 months. Hopefully I’ll be able to post some progress updates on these things before the first snow fall….
