According to the calendar summer is coming to an end (so sad!) and as much as I love fall I really don’t like winter so I’d like summer to stay forever. But since I live in Canada and that’s not likely to happen I thought this would be a good time to recap my summer bucket list. So here it is!
Beach days / There were more days above +30 this year then I can count. Which I love. So beaches, water, and pool were definitely enjoyed!
Ice cream adventures / While I may not have found the best ice cream in the land, I did eat my fair share of it at home. So that counts, right?
Small towns + Road trips / Wakefield, Perth, and Merrickville. Such cute towns! Wakefield has my vote for the best swimming, Perth wins for best overall experience, and Merrickville has the best poutine from their purple main street chip truck.
Movies in the park / Turns out there were so many places around the city doing movies under the stars this summer. And we missed out on all of them! Oops. To be fair we did get rained out of the one that I was planning on so there’s that.
Evening strolls downtown / We spent quite a few evenings downtown, saw the Sound and Light show at Parliament Hill, went for dinner in the market for Matt’s birthday, and had many a frozen yogurt nights.
Kayaking + campfire + s’mores / We didn’t end up kayaking on the canal this year (so many good intentions..), but we did kayak and paddleboat at the lake. And also had a great evening campfire with s’mores.
All in all it was a great summer filled with endless sunshine and good memories!
