For my last smoothie of the month I thought I’d try something different from all the fruit ones I’ve been making and make a chocolate one instead. Yum! So really its more of a milkshake then a smoothie but whatever you want to call it it was pretty delicious.
What you need:
– 1 frozen banana
– 1 cup frozen raspberries (if you use fresh then you’ll need to throw in some ice cubes too)
– 1 cup almond milk or any milk of your choosing
– 1 tbsp cocoa powder
– 1 tsp honey or sweetener
– 1/2 tsp vanilla
*makes one serving
Toss all the ingredients in your blender with the liquids at the bottom, and blend until smooth. Add more milk if needed until you get the consistency that you like. Enjoy!
I came up with this recipe by combining a few that I found online, primarily Two Peas and Their Pod and All Sorts of Pretty, and the only thing I would say about it is that it has more of a cocoa taste then chocolatey flavour. Or maybe it just wasn’t as sweet as I usually like it…. or maybe they are both being healthy and I, more often then not, choose flavour over health. Oops.
Oh well, enjoy this chocolatey photos and if you’re like me then just add more honey to sweeten it up. Or if you want to cheat skip the cocoa and honey and just squeeze in a bunch of chocolate syrup ;)
