Year of Getting Stuff Done – February Update

February Update // www.thelovelythings.com

Ummm… Hey February? What was the rush?! It’s hard to believe we’re already 2 months into the year, but I’m also very much looking forward to spring and the warm weather it will bring! It was kind of a crazy-busy month for me, and to be completely honest I much prefer slow, lazy months with lots of time to take it easy. But as a freelancer I’ll never complain about work either! Okay so here’s how my month went….

PS you can check out my first post on this HERE, or my past updates HERE

What worked:

Drinking water everyday – I wasn’t 100% successful in this one, but I was pretty close! And in my books pretty close is good enough for the second month of doing it.

Meal planning – Success! It took quite a bit of planning, but in the end I think it it was worth it. I’ll do a post in the next few weeks on what I think worked and what I adapted for us.

More reading, less internet-ing – I finished a book! And then started a second one. I’m on a roll guys! My current read is Grace: A Memoir, which is about the life of Vogue’s creative director Grace Coddington.

Make a year-in-our-life photo book – I have January done (you can see it here), and will be working on February this weekend. Wooo!

Last month I said I wanted to work on my business some more and then I came across this quote that really hit home with me, “If you don’t build you own dream someone else will hire you to build theirs.” It definitely gave me some perspective and motivation to get going!

What didn’t:

Get moving – Ugh. Turns out I didn’t magically become really good at getting active just by writing it on my to-do lists. Who knew. I did come up with some things that I thought I’d enjoy (swimming, yoga..) and could build into my week, but timing never worked out for them. So I’m kind of stuck on how to motivate myself in this department. Suggestions?

I’ll leave you with this last bit of encouragement… we all know I need it ;)
