Christmas Traditions

Christmas Traditions - The Lovely Things © Zambonin Photography

I love Christmas traditions. Getting the tree, hanging lights, baking cookies… all the things that transform December from a freezing cold month into the most magical time of the year! So when I was thinking about Christmas traditions for this post I thought I’d search around a bit for some ideas of new traditions for couples to start together. Many of them were lame or cliche (okay, so are all of mine but lets just ignore that part), that is until I found this post on My Life Well Loved. She shares pretty much my exact thoughts on Christmas as a newly married couple and the tricky thing of merging family traditions. If you’re in that place in your life too I highly recommend checking it out!

I love her main points: give up on perfect (and do what you guys want to do), find out what’s important to each other, and just let the day unfold!

I also really like this post by Time Warp Wife. She shares a handful of things that are similar, but good things to remember as Christmas gets closer. Only 14 more sleeps!

I love this post (once again:P) and also seeing the familiar Christmas ornaments that went into your collection and used to hang on our trees while you & your brothers were growing up. And yes, I agree that http://mylifewellloved.com/christmas-traditions-for-couples/ is a great read. Thinking that we are in the midst of the “new couple” mode (empty nesting for a while now) of rediscovering what we did for Christmas as we started our married life so long ago.
