We live in an apartment above our landlady, but for us this is a good thing. Our landlady is the nicest, 70ish year old, Slovenian lady who has made her backyard a beautiful, green, garden filled space. And lucky for us she likes to share her harvest! In the summer time we will come home and find a grocery bag of freshly picked lettuce or tomatoes on our door step, and last summer her bounty also included pears. Sweet, delicious, sun ripened pears. I didn’t even know you could grow them out here, but I guess she can!
After a while of eating them plain, my brilliant husband decided we should do something else with them. So along came this appetizer! All you need is prosciutto, pears, and brie (or whatever cheese of your liking), and an appetite. Mmmm so good!
