A lot of years ago I got a part time job as a receptionist at a portrait studio. It was during that chapter of my life that I realized that being a photographer was a possibility, and one that I wanted to go after as a career. So I researched schools, found the one that perfectly fit everything I was looking for, and moved across the country to start a new adventure.
Two years later, after graduating, I worked for a commercial studio as a photographer’s assistant, then freelance assisted for a couple of years. I gained tons of experience, worked with awesome photographers, and got to see and do some pretty cool stuff. The only downside was that as the years went on instead of shooting more for myself and building up my own portfolio, I went the other way and hardly ever picked up a camera. Pretty much brings us up to date to now.
So, while I re-motivate myself and try to figure out what I’m supposed to be doing with my photography career I thought this would be a good place to start. Get back to what made me love taking photos in the first place: beautiful things, places, people, and moments.
